[post_content] => Stay Green Named One of Top 150 Landscape Contractors
Landscape Management Magazine has named Santa Clarita-based Stay Green Inc. as one of the top 150 landscape contractors in the nation.
The “LM150” were announced recently in a special supplement to the magazine, “Unwrapped: LM reveals its elite list of the 150 largest landscape contractors.”
Making the list of 150 top landscape contractors is no small feat: Landscape Management estimates there are 272,450 “Green Industry” enterprises nationwide.
The magazine noted that Stay Green, by maintaining 2009 revenue levels that were consistent with the prior year, is among the industry’s leaders in surviving a down economy.
“Flat is the new up,” Editor-in-Chief Nicole Wisniewski wrote. “Growth was certainly the exception in 2009. Only 33 of the LM150 companies reported growth, 18 broke even and the rest — 99 companies — saw their sales drop.”
Despite the difficult economy, Wisniewski and other industry observers noted an overall outlook of optimism among the Green Industry professionals.
“While economic recovery might seem slow in coming, it will come!” wrote Ken Taylor, business solutions manager for John Deere, which sponsored the Landscape Management special report. “The industry is viewed as a growth opportunity and increasingly investments are being made.”
Stay Green CEO/President Chris Angelo agreed, and said his firm’s inclusion on the list is a testament to the hard work and professionalism of Stay Green’s more than 200 employees.
“We believe our success is directly tied to the team we’ve built here at Stay Green,” Angelo said. “By building such a strong team, we have been able to not only keep up with industry trends and changing technologies, but also to get ahead of them.”
For example, Stay Green recently invested in new vans and equipment to create its new Water Management Services division, which will help Stay Green customers improve their water use efficiency and promote healthy, beautiful landscaping at the same time.
“Our new Water Management Services reflects the kind of positive initiatives noted in
Landscape Management Magazine as being among the causes for optimism in our industry,” Angelo said. “We’re proud to be included in the LM150, and we share the views expressed in Landscape Management that innovation and strong business relationships are among the keys to success in our industry.”
Stay Green Inc. (www.staygreen.com) provides award-winning landscape maintenance, tree care, and plant health care services for premiere residential, commercial and industrial properties throughout Southern California.
