Stay Green Inc. One of Area’s ‘Best Places to Work’
Landscape management firm a finalist in newspaper’s awards program
SANTA CLARITA, CA – The San Fernando Valley Business Journal validated what Stay Green Inc.’s employees have been saying for more than 35 years – the Santa Clarita-based landscape management firm is one of the best places to work.
The Journal announced the winners of its first-ever “Best Places to Work” Program in its September 29 issue. Stay Green was ninth among 11 finalists in the Medium Business category, which included companies with 50 to 249 employees.
“We couldn’t do what we do without our dedicated team,” said Stay Green Founder and President Richard Angelo. “From our crews in the field, to our office staff, to our supervisors and managers, everyone plays a role in ensuring that we offer the superior service our clients value. To do that, we make sure our staff members know they are valued, empowered, and taken care of.”
As a result, Stay Green enjoys an employee retention rate far above the industry average. Of its 182 full-time employees, 10 have been with the company 20 years or more.
The Journal’s “Best Places to Work” program was open to all publicly or privately held organizations, either for-profit or not-for-profit, that proved they knew what it takes to create an environment where people love to come to work. Nominations were submitted by area companies, individual employees, and Journal staff.
The process of screening the entries was managed by Best Companies Group (BCG), an independent workplace excellence research firm. BCG conducted surveys, evaluated the data and ultimately chose the companies that were good enough to make the list.
Three-quarters of each finalist’s score involved a confidential 61 question Employee Engagement & Satisfaction Survey (EESS) that assessed employees’ workplace experience and company culture.
The remainder of the score was derived from the BCG Employer Questionnaire (EQ), which gathered information about each company’s benefits, policies, practices and other general information. The combined sets of data allowed the experts at BCG to conduct an in-depth analysis of each company’s strengths and opportunities.
Thirty companies from the paper’s coverage area, including Los Angeles, Glendale, Burbank, Calabasas, Agoura Hills, and the Santa Clarita, San Fernando, Simi and Antelope valleys, were selected as finalists in Small, Medium and Large Business categories.
Stay Green Inc. is a family owned company founded in 1970 that provides award-winning landscape maintenance and tree and plant health care services for premiere residential, commercial and industrial properties throughout Southern California.
