Bees do not carry the burden of pollinating the world’s plants on their own. Birds, Bats butterflies, beetles and some small mammals, are also to thank. Without their involvement in pollination, entire ecosystems would collapse, and our food supply would be in danger. To put it into perspective, one out of every three bites of food we take is the result of pollination.

Unfortunately, these vital creatures are extremely vulnerable to man-made and natural threats. Habitat loss, non-native species, synthetic pesticides and more are responsible for the decline of pollinator populations. While mankind has contributed to many of these dangers, we have the ability to reverse the damage. In an effort to slow the decline of pollinator populations, one week in June is named National Pollinator Week

This week is meant to spread awareness and generate support for pollinators. If we don’t become more conscientious of birds, bats, butterflies, bees and the rest of them, soon we will find ourselves in a perilous position.

Businesses, HOAs, hospitals, schools and more can lend a helping hand to pollinators by including or excluding certain plants in their landscaping, reducing the impact of pesticides, and using natural resources responsibly.

These changes are not only beneficial to the environment, they can save money too. With strategic, sustainable landscape designs, property managers and owners can enjoy a clear conscience, reduced water bills and better plant health care.

Preserving our most precious natural resources is rooted in Stay Green’s mission. From our sustainable landscape designs to our emission-free equipment, minimizing our negative environmental impact is top priority.
