Stay Green Celebrates Company Milestones at Company Picnic

Sixty long-time staff members honored for years of dedicated service

SANTA CLARITA – Stay Green Inc., Santa Clarita's natural choice for landscape management, held its first annual company picnic and awards ceremony August 2 to celebrate the contributions of the company's 200 employees and recognize those who have achieved service milestones.

"We wouldn't be where we are today without the dedication and talent of each and every employee," said Stay Green founder Richard Angelo. "We've held a number of employee appreciation events over the years, but we really wanted to do something special where we could bring everyone together, and pay special recognition to those that have been with us for a long time."

More than 400 employees and their families gathered for a day of games, food, and awards at Richard Rioux Park in Stevenson Ranch. Highlights included a catered lunch from Tresierras Supermarkets, an employee soccer tournament, three-legged races, a $500 cash prize raffle, snow cones, pop corn, and a pie-eating contest.
Sixty employees received awards for service longevity, including 10 who have been with the company 20 years or more. They are:

• Vicente Guzman, Landscaping Crew Leader, 20 years
• Juan Lopez, Landscaping Crew Leader, 20 years
• Angel Ramirez, Landscaping Crew Leader, 20 years
• Jose Pelayo, Landscaping Crew Leader, 25 years
• Juan Perez, Mechanic, 25 years
• Gil Brambila, Landscaping Crew Leader, 30 years
• Salvador Hernandez, Spray Technician, 35 years
• Isaias Leon, Account Manager, 35 years

Two others receiving 35-year awards were Richard and his wife Charlene. Their awards were a surprise created by grateful staff members. "It was a special moment for us," Richard said, "But what really made our day was a chance to see the Stay Green family together celebrating our accomplishments."
